Ringing In 2016

We had such a fun New Year's Eve surrounded by some of our favorites!  Our neighbors came over and all the kids played and watched movies while the grown ups hung out and watched football and played Battle of the Sexes (after eating and eating and eating)!  Oh and everyone wore jammies too - perfect if you ask me! Here are the kids and then the grownups!

And this is what it looked like to have all of them at the table eating - everyone did a pretty good job!

After eating and then playing a little more, we turned on Big Hero 6 and made a giant pallet of blankets and pillows on the floor!  Even Ryan did good and sat and watched!

Oh - of course the adults had to do a silly picture too - this is definitely more appropriate than the smiling one!

And I knew the Hulk mask and hands would come out...

We made it to the ball drop in the eastern time zone and then everyone headed home.  The kids all did awesome and most lasted the whole time!  I barely made it to midnight locally - we were in bed and I saw it drop again and then went to sleep seconds later!

Maybe this is becoming a tradition?  I think this is the third or fourth year in a row that the next door neighbors have come over and hung out! I love any reason to get together with friends!  Happy 2016!!!

 

Ringing In The New Year

Just call us party animals! HA!  We rang in the new year with our neighbors ... I think this may be the second or third year in a row with them!  They came over and the kids played and we got pizza and hung out.  It was great and so easy!  All 4 kids scarfed down their pizza! Poor Jack - still in the highchair :) As long as he will fit, he will be in one - ha!  We need a place to have him be contained!

The girls had a great time playing dress up!  At one point we had TWO Elsas in the house!  Whew!

 

 And then Katie wanted to take a picture of us together.  I love this picture!  I'll have to remember that her standing in a chair to take a picture is a flattering angle - ha!

 And then we did as instructed....silly faces! 

They headed home for bedtime at around 7:30 and then we got our crazies down.  I managed to stay up until midnight in the eastern timezone (oh, how times have changed) and was asleep by 11:15! HA!

Happy New Year!

I hope each of you has had a fantastic start to the new year! I am happy to report I have only messed up one time with writing 2013 instead of 2014 :)  We have been busy spending time with friends and family and enjoying all the goodies we got over the holidays!  The kids finally started back to school this past week, so hopefully we will begin to get back into our regular routine!  I had a routine doctor's appointment that went just lovely.  We actually got some snow, but sadly it wasn't enough to actually enjoy (like sledding or snowman building) - and had temperatures that hovered around ZERO degrees earlier this week.  We watched some football - Auburn should have totally won that game, but that's another story :)  And I am so excited to see what this year holds for us.  It will be a game-changer for sure!  Here is our annual family New Year's picture :)
