Favorite Pinterest Ideas

Today I am linking up with Kelly's Korner's SUYL: Favorite Pinterest Ideas!  And good grief, I should be an expert there...I have close to 7700 pins! So here are some of the pins that jumped out at me as I scrolled through them!

Isn't this a great quote??
Love this cake as inspiration for Katie's party!
Love this as inspiration for a memory board for Jack's first birthday!
I am going to get all of our eggs out for Katie to play with...what a great idea to make it a learning activity too!
How can I already be thinking of apparel for football season?!  I absolutely love this scarf - Auburn colors AND dots!
This essie color, Cute As A Button, is so fun!  I actually have it on right now :)
I'm also trying to come up with some fun things to do this summer...this would be a fun routine!
Speaking of football season, I cannot get over this necklace...WAR EAGLE!  And I think I may need to add this to my jewelry stash soon!
Doesn't this wreath scream spring?? I love it!
We will be doing this the next time we go to the zoo...a zoo passport to check things off as you see them!
Wanna follow me on Pinterest?  There is sure to be something you like in all those pins :)  Find me {here}!

What I'm Loving Wednesday + Oh, How Pinteresting

Happy Wednesday!  Hope you are safe from the storms (if you were affected or are being affected)! I know we are one sleepy family today...we woke the kids up and headed to our safe place at 3:15am.  *Yawn!* I had to wake Katie up at 8:30 to get going for school!  Anywho, here are some pins I'm loving today!
I'm LOVING this idea when using glittery polish!  I know I never use it because it is so hard to get all the glitter off with polish remover.  Well, looks like Elmer's glue is the way to go - as a base coat.  And then you just peel the polish off.  Amazing!
I'm LOVING this idea for matching uppercase and lowercase letters.  If I were to use just pink and purple hearts, I know Katie would be all over it :)
I'm LOVING this organized kids' craft station!  It makes me want to go to the Container Store.  So maybe I shouldn't love it too much.
I'm LOVING the thought of this recipe.  Um, nutella AND brownies?? Sign me up!
I'm LOVING this outfit!  It looks comfy, and it is super cute.  And oh so stylish.  Emerald green is the it color of 2013 right??  Oh, I also like that the shoes are flats :)

Foodie Friday: Oatmeal Banana Breakfast Muffins

This week, we followed our menu plan loosely :) We ended up picking up Newk's Monday night because we had gone out to shop at Jos A Bank's big sale and were all starving (and I didn't want to prepare anything)!  Tuesday night I had a meeting, so Brad and Katie had leftovers from the weekend.  And Wednesday night, I made the Pesto Tortellini with Pine Nuts - so easy and always a crowd favorite!  And the neighbors came to eat with us, so that was fun!

I did do some cooking this week for a breakfast item I found on Pinterest.  I had never tried to bake anything that didn't have oil or flour in it, so I decided to give it a try!  I made Oatmeal Banana Breakfast Muffins!

Here are all the ingredients in the blender.  I made the mistake of ignoring the suggestion of putting the oats in a little at a time.  Oops!  So I ended up having to take it all out into a bowl and mashing it around with a spoon.  It worked just fine but I am sure a blender or food processor would've been easier.  It's definitely times like this where I wish I had a KitchenAid Mixer - that would make me "official" ... maybe I can ask for that for birthday/Christmas this year!  I bet they go on sale on Black Friday :)
Anyways...back to the muffins...this is what they looked like when they were done!
They are really good and filling...and only 50 CALORIES each!! I did use Splenda instead of sugar and Egg Beaters instead of eggs, so that is why they are so low in calories!  And I very badly want to try one with Nutella - but that would negate the health factor :)  When I make them again, I might try putting some cinnamon and maybe honey in them to enhance the flavor a bit.  But they are easy and delicious - I highly recommend them!  Just be sure to add the oats gradually rather than get in a hurry and pour it all together at the start! Also, on the website, there are a lot of comments of variations people have tried - ways to make it dairy free, adding pumpkin, etc!  So be sure to take a look at the comments!

What I'm Loving Wednesday + Oh, How Pinteresting

It's Wednesday yet again...even though I told Katie's teacher to have a nice weekend yesterday (yes, it was Tuesday) - whoops!  Here's what I'm loving today (thanks to Pinterest for the majority of them)!
I'm LOVING this reading nook!  Doesn't that look so fun!?
I'm LOVING this brightly colored outfit for spring/summer.  I can't wait for warmer temperatures and sunshine!
I'm LOVING this leg workout...surely I can handle this...15 minutes?!  I think I can handle it (and then not be able to feel my legs)!
I'm LOVING these cookies!!!  Nutella Stuffed Funfetti Cookies - there are no words.  And I think I may need to make these.
I'm LOVING this dining room set.  I have curtains up in the dining room now and it is really making me want to get a table and chairs in there...this is the Arcadia Collection at World Market.  I don't think we would get the bench - we'd get all chairs.  I am going to look at some antique stores soon to see if I can find a pretty one somewhere.
I'm LOVING this table and chair set - the Cortona collection - from Pottery Barn.  Of course it is much more expensive, but they are sort of similar.
I'm LOVING the Orleans set at Haverty's.  Whew! We have gone in to look at this one a few times and we both love it.  Now we just need to bite the bullet and find one and get it!

Foodie Friday: YUM!

It has been a LOOOONG time since I've done a Foodie Friday post! Heck!  It has been a looooong time since I've done a menu plan and cooking!  I guess having a 3 year old and young baby will do that.  Anyway, I am so glad I made a menu plan for this week - it was so fun to try these new recipes (thanks, Pinterest!!) and cook and eat at home!  Here is what our week looked like...

Monday: Baked Garlic Brown Sugar Chicken, Au Gratin Potatoes (Betty Crocker), and Cheesy Broccoli (one of those steamer bags from the frozen food section)
What a delicious meal!  The chicken was tender and had great flavor!  And then who can go wrong with au gratin potatoes, cheesy broccoli, and Hawaiian rolls :)  Go {here} for the chicken recipe!

 Tuesday: Sandwiches/Leftovers

Wednesday: Cilantro Lime Chicken Rice Bake
This meal was pretty involved (note: do not make if you want a quick, easy meal), but man, was it worth it!  Our neighbors came over to eat with us and there weren't any leftovers!!!  It was delicious!  I forgot to get a picture of the creamy sauce to put on top of it, but it is quite similar to Chuy's Creamy Jalapeno sauce - YUM!  Go {here} for the recipe!
Look at all of those dirty dishes!  Definitely a sign of a good meal...and since I cooked, Brad got to clean all of those :)  He said it was worth it though!

Thursday: Cream Cheese Sausage Pinwheels and Scrambled Eggs
YUM!  These were so easy and delicious...I could not stop eating them!  It would obviously work as a breakfast or brunch item, but sometimes we like to do breakfast for dinner - perfect!  Go {here} for this recipe!
And I actually put things out on the table!  Usually, we serve buffet style, but it was nice to have it on the table with us for a change.  Maybe buffet style would've been better - those pinwheels were right in front of me calling my name :)

I think all 3 of these recipes will be made again in this house! Yum!  And I've already got next week planned out as well :) So stay tuned for more yumminess!  Happy Friday!

What I'm Loving Wednesday + Oh, How Pinteresting

It's Wednesday again - yippee! And that means it is time for another edition of What I'm Loving Wednesday!  And since everything I have here came from Pinterest, I decided to link up with Oh, How Pinteresting too :)  So, here we go!
I'm LOVING this idea with beadboard!  I am fairly sure we have a piece of beadboard left from when we did Jack's nursery - so I need to cut it to size, paint it, and buy some letters.  Sounds easy enough, no?  Now...should I do LOVE and hang it in our room?  Or something else? Suggestions?
I'm LOVING this idea with hula hoops and a shower curtain!  Katie has the rocking chair I had when I was little in her room - how cool would it be to put this in there and buy a shower curtain with fun colors and hang it in the corner?  You just use the shower hooks and hook it onto the hula hoop, hang from ceiling, and voila!
I'm LOVING the dots and color!  I have this nail polish...how do they get those dots to look so perfect?? Maybe a q-tip?
I'm LOVING this for any room, really...buy some neat fabric ... and frame it!  That simple!
I'm LOVING this necklace...like, I want one.  I need one.  Bottom line.  She does any state - find yours {here}!

What I'm Loving Wednesday and Oh How Pinteresting

Happy 4th of July - and Happy Wednesday!  I hope you have some fun plans to celebrate this Independence Day!  Us?  Not so much - we will probably stick close to home since we have a wee one.  I really want to go see fireworks somewhere, but we shall see.  Anyways, here is what I'm loving today - the July 4th Edition!  You can link up HERE
And since they are all finds from Pinterest, I decided I'd link up (for the first time!) with Oh, How Pinteresting too!   Link up HERE to play along!
I'm LOVING this idea of show the buffet menu for a Fourth of July party!  And the pinwheels are fun too!
I'm LOVING these strawberries.  I think they'd also be fun to make if you are hosting an "Opening Ceremonies Party" for the Olympics!
I'm LOVING this print.  I especially love those lyrics.
I'm LOVING this cake!  It is probably more than I could try to do (layers of color with a block of blue), but I think it is really neat!
I'm LOVING this printable!  Fun fonts...words that remind us of the Fourth of July - so great!
I'm LOVING this burlap door hanger.  I think it'd work all summer, really.
I'm LOVING this printable - I think this may be my favorite pin.  Simple and oh so true!
I'm LOVING this kids' project.  I think it would be fun to do at home - or if you are hosting a party, it'd be fun for the kids to do!
I'm LOVING this invitation to a Fourth of July party!
I'm LOVING this garland - stripes and dots, red, white, and blue - perfect!
I'm LOVING this idea for kids at a cookout or party - it's just a cherry ringpop!
I'm LOVING this idea for cake too!  It looks a little but more manageable as far as layering the colors is concerned :)
I'm LOVING this option for dessert at a cookout - so patriotic!
I'm LOVING the presentation of the hot dogs and chips - we will definitely do this sometime!
I'm LOVING this project for kids too - hand and foot prints to create the American flag!
I'm LOVING this topping mixture for cookies or cupcakes for a Fourth of July celebration - Pop Rocks and sprinkles in red, white, and blue.  So fun!
I'm LOVING this wreath.  I can't recall if this is using yarn or ribbon, but I think I'd have to use ribbon so it doesn't take as long :)
I'm LOVING this patriotic drink!  Because of the sugar content of the liquids, it stays separated!  It is red fruit punch, blue gatorade, and diet 7-Up or Sprite!

Have a happy, safe Fourth of July!
