What I'm Loving Wednesday

Happy, happy Wednesday, y'all!! I think it is going to be a good day. Miss Priss and I are going to spend some time at the pool - it has been way too long since we've done that! Now, it's time to talk about what I'm loving today!

I'm loving that I finally have a four generation picture scheduled! I've been wanting to do that for over a year and I'm so excited! I had bought a Groupon and I decided a four generation session would be just perfect!

I'm loving Pinterest. I only spent about 10 minutes on there yesterday and could immediately tell I would be in big trouble! I love it! Wanna follow me? Find me ... acoulter11!

I'm loving these two. They are pretty wonderful.

I'm loving how much Katie is loving her swim lessons! Today will be the second to last lesson - she has learned so much!
I'm loving this hand towel hanging in our kitchen!

I'm loving these new fabrics I bought yesterday! I am also SUPER excited that a friend is letting me borrow a sewing machine! She is bringing it over tomorrow night to teach me the basics on it :) I can't WAIT to play with it!

I'm loving that I finally put a picture in that frame! I think I won it about a year and a half ago and I just put a picture in it this past weekend. I've got to do better about that!

I'm loving the new Very Hungry Caterpillar collection at PBK!! Seeing this bathroom makes me want to re-do Katie's bathroom....I just LOVE it!
I'm LOVING that we are headed to a concert tonight! That isn't something we do very often, and I cannot wait! We are going to see Train and Maroon 5! I especially love Maroon 5's latest song, "Moves Like Jagger" - so fun!

Weekend of Firsts

Whew! What a big weekend we had! It was jam-packed with fun activities for sure. I think I still am catching up on sleep! I wanted to highlight some of the fun firsts othat ths weekend had for us!

{Katie chewed her first gum on Friday! It looked just like one of those pink gumballs in that picture. We ate lunch with some friends and she wanted a ball out of the jar just like everyone else. She held it for abount 10 minutes. I kept checking on her to make sure it was still in her hand. And on one of my checks, I noticed a pink stained hand and something huge in her mouth. I pulled into the nearest gas station and grabbed the hunk of chewing gum out. She had been actually chewing it just like anyone else would! She was not too thrilled about me taking it from her. I wonder if she would have kept chewing it or tried to swallow it. Hm. Regardless, I'm glad I caught it just in time!}
{Katie's first ride! We went to the local fair on Friday night and met some friends there. They had lots of kiddie rides and we put Katie on one with our friends' kids. Don't they all look adorabloe? I especially love that Katie loved her pigtails! Katie did great on this ride - likely because she was with her friends. We tried to put her on one with doggies and she went around once and started screaming. She also went on the humongous slide with Brad - ya know, the one that is like 2 or 3 stories tall? She sat in Brad's lap and loved every second of it.}

{First football game of the season! Brad and I went to the first Titans preseason game with a bunch of friends. We had amazing seats - 4th rows away from actually sitting on the bench with the players. Pretty awesome. Also helps that they won!}
{My mom and I went to see The Help on Sunday night. I say this is a first because I could most definitely go see it a second and maybe even a third time. Loved it. Makes me want to read the book again!}

{And I just threw this in there for fun - there aren't too many pictures of me with my momma on here! There also aren't very many pictures at ALL where my mom's eyes are all the way open. What are we gonna do with her??}

Foodie Friday

This week's featured dish is Faithful Provision's Slow Cooker Lasagna! I have to admit that I had never made lasagna before - especially in a crockpot. But I was excited to try! Brad had been craving lasagna for about a month, so I decided to give it a try! And MAN - it was delicious! We had it with garlic bread and caesar salad. And it was enough to feed three adults the first night, plus have 2 meals of leftovers for Brad! I highly recommend it - and I like that it doesn't take all day to cook.. I ended up using 12 lasagna noodles instead of 8, but I did add more water. I also didn't cook it for 5 hours as the recipe called for - I did it for 3.5 hours and it was perfect! I hope you like it as much as we did! Oh, and I apologize that I didn't get a picture of my pretty plate with food on it - I was too hungry!

Best Buds

I knew that Sadie and Katie would be eachothers' favorite playmates one day, and I do believe that day as come. First thing in the morning Katie asks for Sadie. And she has to give her goodnight kisses and hugs before nap and bedtime. She helps feed her now (scooping the food and dumping it into the food bowl). And of course play - the universal language. She brings Sadie pretend food and water. Oh, and she likes to ride her like a horse, as you may have seen in previous posts. Katie also loves giving Sadie treats. I am fairly sure Sadie does not mind that! And Katie has started saying "No, Sadie!" or "Down, Sadie!" or "Sit, Sadie!" - so cute. Sadie hasn't quite figured out what Katie is saying, but she loves it just the same.

{they were sitting under the kitchen table like this. looks like they were solving the world's problems!}

{treat time!}

{so cute. rolling around on the floor together.}

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I'm back! I know...I've been a bit MIA lately. I just felt like I needed to take a bit of a break as I'm feeling quite burned out on technology. I feel like I need to just sit and read a good book. But I need my phone and computer to get work done. Oh well. I decided to jump back on the WILW bandwagon - it really is nice to sit down and take a minute to think about the pluses of life! And if you care to join up, jump over {here}! Oh, and I will warn you...a lot of this post is Katie-related! :)

I'm loving the way Katie talks on the phone. She likes to call people and have it on speaker but she still holds it up to her ear with her shoulder!

I'm loving how much Katie and Sadie are entertaining eachother! Katie loves to play with Sadie, feed her pretend food, throw the ball for her, chase her, and then also chase with her doll stroller, too. I think deep down inside, Sadie loves every ounce of attention, even if she gets chased, dressed up, and sat on!

I'm loving how Katie has friends that she likes to play with! Don't they look so cute and sweet with the puzzle?

I'm loving how Katie loves anything and everything creative. Coloring, Play Do, painting, chalk, dry erase markers...all of it!

I'm loving these beautiful flowers! They were just stunning and I loved watching them bloom all the way!I'm loving what a goofball Miss Katie is. Yes, that is her wearing the Mrs. Potatohead glasses. Oh dear.

I'm loving that sweet smile!

I'm loving introducing Katie to new foods. I thought for sure she would love peanut butter. Um...not so much. Looks like she takes after her daddy. I have tried peanut butter and jelly sandwiches - no sir. I even bought these pretzels with peanut butter between them thinking it might hide it and she would give it a chance. She was really excited to try some new pretzels....

...and she put it in her mouth....and spit it out. Dangit! I thought I could make her like peanut butter for sure! So, she took it out of her mouth and fed it to Sadie.

...and then she took her washrag that she uses to play with Elmo and her dolls, and she wiped her tongue off for good measure.

I'm loving that Katie folds her little washrag. After wiping her tongue off, she layed it out and started folding it.

...and she's done!

I'm loving this girl's need for accessories. She loves her purses. And sunglasses. And now she loves her bows. And she sometimes wants to wear a bow AND a headband! Oh goodness we are in for it as she gets older!

I'm loving that we got to go see some cutie patootie baby pigs!! One of my friend's family owns a farm and they have two girl pigs that were pregnant. Well, one of them gave birth last week and we got to visit them! We held them and watched them explore - so neat! I think Katie really enjoyed it too.

Katie petting a baby pig...

I had to hurry and get a picture with the cute little piggy before he/she started squealing and waking up the mama pig!

Mama Pig with all 10 of her babies. So neat!

I'll be back with more posts soon! And be sure to "follow" this blog - I have some neat giveaways coming up soon that you will LoVe!!

Foodie Fridays

I almost forgot to keep up with my Foodie Fridays - oops! But I made it just in time! This week, I wanted to spotlight another crockpot entree that I made. This past Sunday, I made Orange Juice Slow Cooker Pork and it was delicious! I probably should have served a salad or some bread with it, but it was alright the way it was. And I had full intentions of doing the recipe with my leftovers for the quesadillas but time got away from me. I think I may try it tomorrow - I would throw the pork in the skillet to dry it out some first. If I do end up doing it, I will report back!

It was such a simple recipe - just throw a pork shoulder in (I used a bone-in shoulder), some potatoes, some onions, salt, pepper, and orange juice! I did throw in some garlic and jerk seasoning as well - delicious! I highly recommend this recipe. The pork was nice and juicy! But I'd definitely suggest you serve with some garlic toast and a salad or something along those lines. Enjoy!

Short Roadtrip

We took a quick roadtrip to Memphis last Friday for just one night. A boss at Brad's company had a pool party, so we went for that and then spent the night with friends. Brad lived there when we started dating and still has friends there that he worked with - and fave restaurants that he likes to visit. The friends we stayed with have an almost 5 year old and a 2 year old (the older girly was visiting her grandparents)! Katie had a BLAST playing with their little girl! And we had a great time seeing friends and visiting! Here are some pictures from our quick trip!

{Katie was all snuggled in for the drive. And no, she did not ever sleep on the way there.}
{I don't have any pictures from the pool party, but here are the girls jumping in the bed Saturday morning! They thought it was the best thing ever.}

{Katie modeling her new Little Honeybee Designs outfit! We got it when we stayed with our friends - and I've never seen Katie so protective and excited over an outfit!}

{The little girls watching their daddies load our car}

{Playing on the chair - isn't this just adorable?!}

{We had changed Katie's diaper in the seat when we made a gas stop and she loved sitting in the chair like a big girl. She loved it so much that she felt the need to honk the horn.}

{Home sweet home! Katie missed sweet Sadie so much!}

She's Got A New Do!

I have been toying with the idea of getting Katie's first hair cut for the last few weeks. I just loved her sweet hair, but I thought it needed a little trim. I was hesitant because I didn't want the curls to get cut off. And I just love fixing it and brushing it and having the option of putting it into a ponytail! I thought about going yesterday, but we loved a lazy day in our jammies. So today was the day! A new do for a new month! Here are some pictures!

BEFORE:

The first snip of the hair:

AFTER:

I think Katie loved every minute of the haircut! She loved the sweet lady and the fact that she was playing with her hair. She loved the TVs playing Cat in the Hat. She loved the fact that they had an Elmo camera just like hers! She got a lollipop, which she was so excited about. And I think she really felt special getting to wear the tiara. And yes, that was just because it was her first haircut. She also loved the finishing spray that made her hair sparkly and shiny - and the glitter on her cheek! And they sent us home with a certificate, a picture, and a lock of her hair. So neat! We will definitely go back there...I wonder how long it will be before she needs another haircut?? Oh, and don't worry, I've already updated her baby book with the first haircut details!
