Almost a month ago (ah!...better late than never), we headed to the CMA Fest with some of our good friends! None of us had ever been before (not sure how that happened since I grew up here), so we were excited! Brad won tickets through the lottery at his company - and they were good seats which made it fun! We left the house and headed closer to downtown and stopped to get some drinks and late lunch. That was fun - and delicious!
Then we went ahead downtown and walked around. We weren't sure how easy it would be to find parking, but it ended up being fine! We walked around some and then stopped inside a bar! Boy, oh boy, was there some good people watching!
Then it was time to make our way over the river to LP Field. I love this picture from the Pedestrian Bridge with downtown behind us!
And then another one of us sitting on a bench (clearly) - ha!
We got there pretty early, so we went to the bar (I see a running theme, no?) inside the club level before heading to our seats. Here are the guys waiting on the show!
And the girls! I forgot my camera, so my phone had to do the job that night - which made it fun to play with Instagram!
And it was showtime! There was supposed to be rain coming to the area, so each artist had an abbreviated set (like anywhere from 1-4 songs give or take)...so sad! And the worst part? It didn't rain for like THREE HOURS after the show had ended! Ugh!
Brad Paisley! The other artists we saw were Jake Owen, Gary Allan, The Band Perry, and Carrie Underwood!
And then a self portrait of the group. I think we attempted this picture probably 8 times. Holding it still, getting all of us in, and not blinking for the flash seemed to be difficult!
