Halloween 2015

I am still working on catching up from over the summer, but I wanted to go ahead and do Halloween and Thanksgiving so I don't forget! The weather was kind of nasty that afternoon, but thankfully, the rain stopped just before we headed out to trick or treat!  The kids had a blast - we have such great friends!
We didn't get around to carving pumpkins this year, but I did have faces to decorate them...but I didn't have two good pumpkins to use!  So the kids both used the same pumpkin.  Here they are working on it (I used the scissors -- not to worry)!
Jack's finished product ...
And Katie's finished product!
Then we headed to the Y so that Brad and I could get a good work out in and the kids could play!  I took this picture when we got home - love all their Auburn gear!  This will be a framer for sure!
And while the boys napped, I made a few things to take to the neighborhood Halloween party.  These were supposed to be oreo balls -- big fail.  Thankfully, Halloween is a messy celebration, so they fit right in :)
Then it was time to get the crazies ready!  Here they are! -- our cowboy, lion, and butterfly!
Ryan was quite possibly the cutest lion ever.  That was the perfect consignment find!
And here is Katie's ensemble - I was hoping her black cat costume from her school play would work, but it was too small (and she didn't want to wear it), so she opted for a butterfly!  Target to the rescue! I happened to find the wings and antennae there (along with the shirt and leggings).  Hopefully she will be able to wear this costume for her first grade play in a few months.
And our cowboy!  The hat, shirt, and handkerchief were from a local buy, sell, trade board and the horse portion is our neighbor's!  It was the cutest!
And one of the crazies all together!
I did manage to get a family picture at our neighbors' house!  Not too shabby!
And a picture of me with some of my very favorite people!  Nice photobomb, Jeff! We were in the garage because of the rain!  Hopefully next year we can use the driveway again and have sunshine and mild temps!  The chili and treats were still just as good this year though!
It was fun to see Tanja and Nick dressed up too! Ryan was not so sure about Nick, so he may be trying to escape this picture :)
I went to take a picture of the girls and Reagan jumped in last minute - I just love this one!  Love all the kids - this is them to a tee!
Katie and Jack were ready to head out!
The first stop of the evening!
Love this - Syd holding their hands as they went house to house.  Grandma kept Ryan at home so he wasn't out in the damp air, so he didn't partake in the trick or treating!
There is no telling what Jack was talking about here, but it looks like it may have been pretty important!  Cute picture of him and Brad heading to the next house!
And an attempt at a picture of me with Jack -- we had one of him smiling but his eyes were closed!  He wanted me to wear the hat for the picture :)
Then it was time to go through their loot!
Love this - the kiddos going through their buckets and finding treats!
We had such a fun night!  From there, we went a few doors further down the street and the kids watched part of Harry Potter while the grown ups ate some snacks and watched football (before coming home).  I love that we have a fun tradition for Halloween with our fun neighborhood crew!

Jam Packed Birthday Month

July is a crazy month around here - there are so many birthdays!  Grandparents (all but 1!), cousins, friends, even my grandfather!  It definitely kept us busy!  We got to spend time with each of the birthday girls and boy on their actual day this year - it was fantastic!

Here are the crazies with Cee Cee while we were celebrating! Love this picture!
And the delicious cake!  There's nothing better than a Darlene's cake - we currently have one here (but not for much longer) from my birthday!  YUM!
And I love this picture of my Meme playing with Ryan!
And Jack loves to hop up in Uncle Will's lap and give him huge sweet!
And just 5 days later, we celebrated Brad's momma's birthday!  And guess what - another Darlene's cake!
Ready to blow out the candles!  Great picture - except all the stuff on the counters behind her.  Oops!
And a cute picture of the kiddos with Grandma!
And just the next day, we got to celebrate Papa's birthday!  We ate at a delicious BBQ place not far from our house (and we snuck in his favorite...chess pie)!  Love this picture of this crazy crew!
And I happened to notice this amazing outtake - ha!  Each of the kids' expressions is priceless!  This outtake was the first picture I took - and then they finally cooperated and the cute one was the last one I took!
We had fun celebrating these folks!  It doesn't hurt that it all involved yummy food and cake or pie.  :)  And of course the company was fun too!

4th of July Trip

Welcome to a new edition of blog catch-up!  Here we are making plans for Thanksgiving and I am just now posting about the 4th of July! Ha!  Enjoy :)
We all loaded up (and when I say all, I mean everyone...including Sadie) to visit some great friends in Virginia!  Everyone did great on the drive, thankfully!  We only play movies on the DVD player in the van when we are on roadtrips, so it is our saving grace when we are in the van!
The first full day we were there, we hung out around the house.  It was nice to relax and do nothing and visit!  Here is a picture of me, Katie, and one of their boys!
Then the next day was the 4th!  Katie and I matched!  Isn't that the sweetest? Ha.
All 3 crazies were sporting their patriotic goods!  Goodness how they've changed since July - especially Jack and Ryan!
And a family shot!  Love this picture!
Ryan even cooperated for a selfie with me! (PS: I see this picture of me and can definitely tell that I've lost weight.  Wow!)
Sadie had the time of her life on our trip!  She was outside and playing as much as possible.  She did have to stop and take a break in the shade from time to time!
That morning, we all drove around and went to an overlook that was beautiful!  I happened to get this picture of all 5 kiddos together.  Love it!
And Brad and I actually got a good one together!
And this is one that will be in a frame once I make time to change pictures out - the whole crew!
That evening we headed out to get ready for some fireworks!  It was so neat to see them over the fair!
Another picture of me and my girl - and our blue eyes! :)
Then it was finally time!  The fireworks show was amazing!  The kids loved them - even Ryan was in a trance watching them!
The next day we hung out and played outside - so great!
Katie with the boys - who knows what they were up to.  Probably up to no good!
The next day it was time for us to head home - we always have such a fun time with them and hate to leave!  Here are the big kids before we all loaded into the car to begin our adventure!
And we stopped at Sonic on the way home - its just easy!  This guy got out of his carseat so he could stretch out some...he loved acting like he was driving!
We can't wait to see our friends again - hopefully before next summer!
