Family Vacation: Kiawah Edition

Boy, oh boy, am I behind with blogging! Whew!  I will get caught up though.  That's a fact.  Anywho, this time last month we were on Kiawah Island, SC with some friends for part one of our tour of the Carolinas.  It was such a great trip!  It was warm enough to be outside but not crowded at all!  We ate some great food, spent a lot of time at the beach, the guys got some golfing in...it was definitely a fabulous week away!  And be warned - there are lots of pictures in this post!  Part two of the post will be the pictures from when we were in North Carolina :)

Katie could hardly wait to get to the beach - this was the first time she really got down and dirty on the beach...she was COVERED each and every time we left!
Part of the time it was a little cloudy, but it was still perfect to be outside - and we didn't have to worry as much about sunscreen!  I love this picture of Brad and Katie looking out at the waves!
And Jack's first time touching the ocean!  He was really interested in the water and the sound it made...
Our two little ones enjoying the beach
Digging a big hole!  She was all about digging in the sand and burying things and building sandcastles!
These two loved running and chasing the birds off - it was hilarious!
And here is Olivia - our friends' little girl!
And their sweet family!
Another one of Katie's favorite things ... jumping the waves.  She loved it!
I love this picture - it is so sweet!
But there's that crazy girl - one of the few times she was being still!
Our second day there...she was SO proud of her pigtails!
We spent time at the pool and on the playground most of this day while the guys played golf.
Love my sweet girl.
There were deer everywhere!  This buck was right next to the gate to the entrance of the beach!  Incredible!  He could've cared less that I was right there taking his picture!
The next day we headed into Charleston (about 40 minutes away) for some fun!  We went to the aquarium and ate lunch and walked through the market.  Here are my two cuties - and they match!
Amazing that they actually cooperated! :)
Looking at all the fishies!
The meerkats loved looking at Jack - and he loved looking at them too!
Proof that I was really there :)
The next day we ate lunch at the clubhouse at the course where the PGA held a tournament in August.  It was beautiful!  And Dallas and Brad practiced putting there too while we did a little photo shoot!
Katherine and Olivia (I love her shirt and pants!)
Me with my sweet kiddos - love this!
And here are the guys putting.  I love that the ocean was right behind them (hence why it is called the Ocean Course - at least I think that's right...it is either the Ocean Club or Ocean Club - ha!)
The Thursday we were there the guys played golf again and we went to a water park that was part of the resort.  Katie loved it!
The pool was zero entry, so I layed Jack where the water was lapping up - and Katie wanted to lay with him!
Later that day, we did our beach photo shoot.  I LOVE the pictures I got!  Here are Katie and Jack together - my favorite!
And here is Jack by himself...
And Katie by herself...
And I got some cute ones of Olivia too!
This is more like Katie's personality....so sweet!
We went to a nice dinner that night - here is a family picture on the front steps of the house before we headed out.
The kids behaved so well the whole time we were gone.  Here is Jack hanging out at dinner.
Here are Dallas, Katherine, and Olivia after dinner!
And our family after dinner!
The last day we headed to the beach again.  And it was finally sunny!
When we got back from the beach and lunch, Dallas' parents (they were there too - we stayed at their house) stayed with the kids so the 4 adults could go out on a bike ride.  Here we are with the marsh behind us!
And Dallas and Katherine too!
The guys headed back to watch baseball (their teams were playing eachother), so Katherine and I kept going.  I think this picture is so pretty!
Dallas' dad loves to fish - and we found him just in time to see one of the fish he caught!
That night, Katie got to help Katherine cook dessert for us all!
And Jack was just hanging out - such a happy boy!
One more of me and my girl in Kiawah.
The next day we got up, loaded the van, and drove to Greensboro to see some other friends!  That post will happen this weekend :)
