Fourth With Friends

We weren't exactly sure what the day would hold for us on the Fourth considering the fact that we have an almost 3 week old.  One thing was for sure - Jack did not need to be outside because of the heat.  There is a fun festival that we have gone to over the past few years, but we opted to stay home this year.  We did get Katie outside some - she and Stella played with Stella's water table and playhouse!
And after Stella napped and we all had quiet time (watching none other than Tangled and Peppa Pig, of course), we discussed dinner plans.  We were all on the fence on going somewhere for fireworks, and in the end, we decided staying home was likely the best option.  We knew the girls would have fun playing and it would be best to be in the air conditioning for the little boys.
And we combined efforts on dinner - it was delicious!  Caesar salad, BBQ, baked beans, mac and cheese, fried shrimp, hush puppies, fried chicken, grapes, rolls, sweet tea, lemonade, apple pie...YUM!
My food!  It was delicious - I cleaned my plate for sure!
And we watched the fireworks on TV - Katie loved it!
Here are Katie and Stella sitting in Katie's chair watching more fireworks on TV...when the fast songs were on, they danced around our living room!  So cute.
And the little boys! Hank is almost 8 weeks older than Jack - they will be best buds just like their big sisters I feel certain!
And the mommas and our boys...so cute (and a little blurry)!
It was just perfect...low key and cool :)  I do look forward to seeing the fireworks in person next year and going to the festivals and all that.  Whew...this time next year, Jack will be fully mobile and getting into everything!  AH!  A day at a time... :)  I also got some good pictures of Katie and Jack before we had dinner...I'll do a post of those tomorrow, so stay tuned!  Hope you had a great 4th!
