The Last Day Of School

Well, we survived another year of preschool!  Today was the last day - and my oh my it is amazing how much both kids have grown and changed!  Jack had a great year and learned so much.  On his note home today, it said he was so happy reading the stories at school and said, "Thank you, God!" - love it.  And just tonight he counted the most he has yet....two, three, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten!  He knows blue, red, yellow, pink, and purple (though blue is definitely his go to color)!

Here he is on the first day of school and today, the last day.  He looked like such a pip squeak on the first day!  Look at all his hair - and he is definitely bigger (which is a good thing)!
And he was not having any more pictures when I wanted one of him and his teachers!  These teachers are so patient and loving and amazing with those kiddos.  Katie had one of these teachers at this age and it is amazing that Jack was lucky enough to be in the same class!
And holy cow.  This was Katie's very last day at this preschool.  She has learned and grown and matured so much as a result of all of the wonderful people there.  She loves Jesus and her friends and her family and is so smart.  I can't believe she is our sweet girl forever - she is truly a blessing to us and everyone around her!  And she is growing up right before our eyes.  Here she is on the first day of the school year this year and then today!
And Katie has been blessed with wonderful teachers every year.  This year was no exception!  Katie had a passion for school this year and I know that is mainly due to the fact that her teacher is amazing!  Katie can count by 10s to 100, knows uppercase and lowercase, writes her name with an uppercase K and the rest lowercase, knows the Pledge of Allegiance, and is quick to remind us that we need to say the blessing before each meal.  She says she loves Jesus the most and then Mommy and Daddy.  She is a sweet girl and cherishes each and every one of her friendships.
And while we are doing picture comparisons, I thought I'd pull some others together.  This one is major.  Wow.  Here is Katie on her very first day of preschool (pip squeak status like Jack's picture above) and then her last day of preschool.  Holy cow.
And here is another one - Katie on her first day of preschool in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, and then today (clearly her last day).
And of course we had to celebrate the last day of school.  And where else do we do that but Chuy's? :)  Here are the crazies at dinner!
So now we have a couple weeks of fun together and the kids start at the preschool in our neighborhood!  They will have a great time there this summer - plus it is convenient :)  And it will be great for them to have structure and fun when Ryan is born!  And before we know it, Katie will be starting kindergarten and Jack will start his second year of preschool at our church!
