Well....I Did It!

Well, I survived my first week as a stay at home momma.  Friday, May 11th was my last day as a part-time, work-from-home momma ... I've always wanted to just stay home with the kids, but it was working pretty well having Katie and working part-time.  I worked 16 hours a week, from home, and I was able to do what I was most passionate about.  It doesn't get much better than that - dream job with major flexibility!  And the people I worked with were amazing.  With all of this said, I definitely plan on staying involved on a volunteer basis - on a when-I-can schedule...not having to coordinate everything!
It is definitely going to be a big transition - I am already feeling like I need to be doing something other than my normal mommy duties.  And I feel guilty for taking a nap.  But I also keep reminding myself that I am 35 weeks pregnant and having major pregnancy insomnia, so I need to do whatever it takes to make it day to day with a wild woman 3 year old!
On Monday I tried to log in to my work email account to make sure I hadn't gotten anything important.  To my surprise, it was already inactive!  I thought I would have at least a few days, but apparently not!
I can't wait to have this whole experience of just being a mom - not trying to balance conference calls and meetings and conferences with spending time with my family.  I also hope this means I will be able to devote more time to cooking, cleaning, etc around the house.  There are lots of projects that need to be done, so hopefully I'll be able to get into a good routine by the fall and can get things done while Katie begins three days a week of preschool!
For now, I am super excited to call myself wife and mommy of the house and that is it.  I hope Katie and Jack really and truly do see me as a Super Mom!
